Serbian White Eagles opened the scoring at the Terry Fox Stadium in Ottawa on a goal at 32 minutes by defender Nikila Milosevic who drove the ball from inside the box past Capital City goalkeeper Clint Irwin.

The home side tied it up 1-1 just before the half-time whistle when forward Sullivan Silva and forward Akil DeFreitas combined for DeFreitas to tap the ball into the net for a 1-1 score at the break.

DeFreitas struck his second and the winner when he and Sullivan took off on a breakaway at 82 minutes and DeFreitas put the ball in the net past Serbian Eagles’ goalkeeper Milos Djurkovic, a 2-1 final score.

The victory extends the Ottawa side’s unbeaten streak to 12 games with an 8-1-4 WLT record for 28 points, while for Serbian White Eagles it was the Toronto team’s second defeat over the weekend following a 3-0 loss to Montreal Impact Academy Saturday.

Toronto Croatia forward Hugo Herrera entered the game as a substitute to score the only goal that gave his side victory over York Region Shooters in an even, well-played contest at the St. Joan of Arc ground at Maple.

Herrera headed the ball into the top right corner of the net at the 85th minute mark out of reach of Shooters’ goalkeeper Camilo Benzi.

Sandi Matika played a strong part in goal for Toronto Croatia, keeping out several chances to score by York Region.

Brampton forward Richard West opened the scoring for the home side at Victoria Park, he found the net past Galaxy goalkeeper Vladimir Markotic at the 7th minute mark and David Velastegui made it 2-0 nine minutes later, the score at half-time.

Kevin Omokhua struck the third goal for Brampton at 58 minutes and Kevin McIntosh rounded out the scoring with a goal at 79 minutes, a 4-0 result.

These two sides played to a 2-2 tie on June 19.

North York Astros are still without a win following the scoreless tie with Windsor Stars at Esther Shiner Stadium, a game that produced few scoring opportunities for either team.

Windsor had an edge in the first half, but North York Astros looked stronger as the game progressed. Windsor defender Filip Rocca shot wide from 20 yards with one late opportunity with Astros’ goalkeeper Enea Perego beaten.
